Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Brookfield, CT is hiring for a Food Service Worker. Positions are available full-time and part-time with an 8:00 am to 2:00 pm schedule and a fixed pay rate of $17.00 per hour.

The role includes basic food prep, serving customers, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in school dining facilities. Prior food service experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.
• Washes, peels, cuts and seeds fruits and vegetables as part of prep work.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner and relays customer concerns to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety and inventory procedures.
