Job summary

Broward County Public Schools in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Food Service General Worker (Walker Elementary) to perform skilled work in preparation and service of nutritionally adequate meals, meeting production deadlines and ensuring food quality.

Responsibilities include following schedules, operating POS, adhering to HACCP, assisting with ordering and inventory, maintaining sanitation, driving vans between satellite sites for food delivery, and supporting safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or cashier work experience.
• Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning.
• Participate in state-approved training related to Food & Nutrition Services.
• Operate point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines.
• Adhere to food safety rules and HACCP.
• Perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, production, service and cleanup.
• Assist with ordering, storage and inventories for supplies and food items.
• Ensure meal service is safe and quality food is served.
• Drive vans to satellite sites for food delivery and drive refrigerated trucks between sites.
