Job summary

The School Board of Broward County, Florida is seeking a Food Service Worker to support nutritious, reimbursable meals for students. You will follow daily production and service schedules, assist with food preparation, and help maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

You may operate POS systems, assist with inventory, and drive vans between sites as needed. The role requires good communication with students, staff, and families, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or cashier experience.
• Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers and staff.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning.
• Operate point-of-sale systems according to guidelines.
• Drive vans to satellite sites for food delivery and drive refrigerated trucks as directed.
• Maintain safe food handling and HACCP compliance.
• Assist in food prep, serving, and cleanup.
• Order, store, and inventory supplies as needed.
• Support training and professional development activities.
