Job summary

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking a Food Service Lead Server to support daily food service activities in the school cafeteria. The role includes preparing and serving meals to students and staff, maintaining sanitary dining and kitchen areas, and coordinating with the nutrition services team to ensure accurate meal counts.

The position reports to the Coordinator of Nutrition Services. Starting pay is $19.97/hour for a 4.5 hour day, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Job related experience is desired.
• Willingness to rotate to any position in the kitchen.
• Knowledge of meal patterns, reimbursable meals, and HACCP methods is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arranges food and beverage items for serving to students and staff in an efficient manner.
• Attends department meetings and trainings for information to perform duties.
• Calls/emails daily food orders to ensure proper meal allocations.
• Cleans utensils, equipment, and serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Inspects food items for quantity, quality, and health standards.
• Maintains inventory of food, condiments, and supplies.
• Maintains sanitary kitchen storage areas and equipment.
• Communicates with principal and teachers for accurate meal counts.
• Monitors student accounts to ensure balances and policies are followed.
• Performs other related duties to ensure efficient operations.
• Prepares food and beverages to meet nutritional requirements.
• Prepares documentation such as temperature logs and records.
