Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Food & Nutrition Services General Worker (Assistant I) to support meal preparation, service, and related duties at CORAL GLADES HIGH in Coral Springs. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely production to meet meal pattern requirements.

Responsibilities include following schedules, operating POS systems, maintaining sanitation, and assisting with inventories. A valid Florida driver’s license is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or cashier work experience.
• Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other Food & Nutrition service-related personnel.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning.
• Operate point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines when assigned.
• Adhere to HACCP and food safety rules.
• Drive vans to satellite sites for food delivery, gas, and clean, as directed.
• Perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, clean-up, and check-in orders, as needed.
