Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Food & Nutrition Services General Worker (Assistant I) to perform skilled work in meal preparation, service, and sanitation, while meeting production deadlines and ensuring quality food products for students.

Responsibilities include following daily work schedules, operating point-of-sale systems, complying with HACCP, assisting with ordering and inventory, driving vans to satellite sites, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or cashier work experience.
• Ability to follow directions, read, and communicate in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and other Food & Nutrition service-related personnel.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning.
• Operate point-of-sale systems according to guidelines when assigned.
• Adhere to HACCP and food safety rules to ensure safe, quality meals.
• Assist in ordering, storage andInventory for supplies and food items.
• Drive vans to satellite sites for food delivery and transport.
• Perform kitchen duties including pre-prep, production, service, and cleanup.
