Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Experience with large-scale food production is preferred.
• Completion of or participation in state or school food service training programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans the preparation of and prepares all food items.
• Assists with daily cleaning of kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
• Reports inferior quality of food or faulty equipment to the appropriate authority.
• Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested recipes, ensuring best quality in flavor and appearance.
• Records all food requisitions from the storeroom.
• Sets up and breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte, etc.).
• Operates ovens, steamers, kettles, tilting skillets, ranges, slicers, and other food prep equipment.
• Collects funds from meal participants and deposits funds to the account.
