Job summary

LEONA MICHIGAN EDUCATION GROUP is seeking a reliable custodian to support daily cleaning and facility maintenance across classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas. You will follow directives from the School Leader and cooperate with staff to maintain a safe, tidy academy environment.

Responsibilities include reporting safety concerns, performing janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping and trash removal, and adapting to afternoon or evening shifts as needed to meet academy requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and speaking skills to carry out supervisory instructions and health and safety information.
• Ability to organize work to meet daily deadlines.
• May be required to work afternoon or evening shifts, depending on academy needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement directives of the School Leader regarding cleaning the facility.
• Clean classrooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, athletic facilities, or other areas as assigned.
• Report safety or health concerns related to the facility to the School Leader.
• Follow guidelines related to universal precautions.
• May assist with ordering or purchasing cleaning supplies and document expenditures.
• Coordinate work with other staff and facility landlord if applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
