Job summary

Madison Public Schools seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform journey-level work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and machine maintenance under the Manager of Operations. This role requires 24/7 on-call access, with background check, medical screening, and drug testing for successful candidates.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED plus 5 years of related experience, knowledge of building systems, and hands-on plumbing, electrical and HVAC skills.

Qualifications

Completion of high school, vocational school, or GED plus 5 years of related experience or equivalent.
Knowledge of computerized building systems and general carpentry, plumbing and electrical skills.
Plumbing focus: inspect, install, repair and replace pipes, valves, meters, traps, fittings and fixtures.

Responsibilities

Perform journey-level maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and related systems.
Operate and repair building systems to maintain domestic water, gas and electrical supply.
Utilize computer systems for word processing, spreadsheets, email and scheduling.
