Madison Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Worker. This position works under the supervision of the Manager of Operations to perform journey level work in several trades including carpentry, plumbing repair, electrical repair, HVAC and machine maintenance duties including 24/7 on-call access. Background check, physical and drug screening required for successful candidate. Job Requirements: Completion of high school, vocational school, or general education degree (GED) plus 5 years of related experience or equivalent. Knowledge of computerized building systems and general carpentry, plumbing and electrical skills. This position will focus on plumbing responsibilities which require knowledge of how to inspect, install, repair and replace pipes, valves, meters, traps, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain domestic water, gas and plumbing systems of the building. Electrical skills should include ability to examine and test elements of electrical systems to locate faults. Ability to use a multimeter, replace motors, starters, faulty switches, outlets, lamps, ballasts, plugs and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances. HVAC skills include the ability to inspect, install, operate and repair heating, ventilating and cooling equipment. Ability to operate computer systems including word processing, spreadsheets, database, email and calendar systems. Valid CT Driver's License.

Work Schedule: 8.0 hours per day / full year
