Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Six months to one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Secures all doors and windows.
• Sweeps, mops, dusts, scrubs, and vacuums classrooms, hallways, stairs and office areas.
• Maintains building by performing maintenance activities.
• Replaces air conditioner filters.
• Operates school boilers and heating and cooling equipment.
• Notifies head custodian, principal and/or maintenance about major repairs.
• Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and keeps grounds clean.
• Assists with supervision of sweepers and groundskeepers.
• Makes minor repairs on electrical fixtures, plumbing, doors, locks, windows, glass, and other fixtures.
• Assists in setting up facilities for events and cleans up afterward.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks as required.
