Job summary

Fredericksburg Christian School is seeking a Maintenance Staff member to maintain facilities in a state of readiness, repair defective equipment, and perform general maintenance across electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and construction tasks.

The role reports to the Facilities Supervisor and requires effective communication with principals and staff, the ability to perform 24-hour emergency maintenance duties, and willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Committed Christian with a close personal walk with the Lord.
• Regular in attendance at an evangelical, Protestant church.
• Commitment to a Biblical lifestyle.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a variety of school vehicles.
• Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Knowledge of safety techniques and how to use power tools and basic carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with building principals to assist them in their roles.
• Repairs facility deficiencies identified by work requests.
• Builds and maintains fixtures and equipment for campus personnel.
• Supervises summer student workers as needed.
• Performs minor troubleshooting and electrical repairs (bulbs, ballasts, fuses).
• Inspects, services, and maintains doors and windows; installs plugs, switches, outlets.
