The role involves coordinating the custodial team, ensuring safety, and maintaining a welcoming environment for students, staff, families, and the community.

The candidate will oversee supplies, equipment, and event readiness, reporting to the Building Principal

Qualifications

• Must have custodial/cleaning duties experience in a school environment.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate custodial equipment safely.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of custodial operations within the assigned building.
• Assign and monitor daily custodial work to meet district cleanliness standards.
• Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting custodial staff, including orientation of new employees.
• Coordinate building maintenance needs and oversee work orders.
• Serve as primary contact between custodial staff, Building Principal, and Facilities Director.
• Support emergency response, building readiness and planning.
• Address performance concerns promptly and document issues.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the custodial department.
• Maintain communication with Building Administrator and Director of Facilities on staffing and conditions.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, storage, and distribution of supplies and materials.
• Order custodial supplies and other facility materials per budgets.
• Coordinate grounds maintenance and outdoor spaces upkeep.
• Maintain inventory records and monitor usage for cost efficiency.
