University Prep Schools in Detroit is seeking a Lead Custodian to provide comprehensive custodial and maintenance support for the district. The role reports to the Facility Manager and Schools Operations Manager and requires coordinating with building leadership to ensure clean, safe conditions on campus.

The position demands physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to handle after-hours emergencies. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and some college or trade

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial and maintenance.
• Be neat in appearance.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate work with School Operations Manager or Principal.
• Process service requests via district help desk and manage updates.
• Sweep, mop and scrub floors and surfaces.
• Clean and renew floor finishes and glass surfaces.
• Lock/unlock doors and ensure building security.
• Assist with HVAC and facilities systems.
• Oversee outside contractors as needed.
• Respond to school emergencies after hours.
