Job summary

Oldham County Schools is seeking a Custodian to ensure cleanliness of school facilities like sidewalks and classrooms. The ideal candidate must be a high school graduate with experience in plant maintenance and the ability to lift 40 pounds. Tasks include sweeping, disinfecting, and performing minor repairs, reporting directly to the School Plant Operator. This is an hourly position requiring 8-hour shifts based on a 260-day contract.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Experience in plant maintenance preferred.
• Ability to push, pull, or lift 40 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of building and premises per schedule.
• Shovel, plow, and/or sand/salt walks and steps as directed.
• Sweep classrooms and dust furniture according to schedule.
• Clean sanitary fixtures and disinfect toilet floors daily.
• Report needed repairs promptly to the School Plant Operator.
• Open and secure the building and handle keys properly.
