Job summary

School Administrative Unit 61 Farmington is seeking a dependable Custodian to perform general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds under supervision. You will prepare classrooms for use, secure buildings, and support events.

Candidates should be able to follow work orders, read and write English, operate cleaning equipment, and work outdoors in different weather. Prior custodial experience is preferred; a driving license or reliable transportation is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior cleaning/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure buildings at start and end of shifts.
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias and offices.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors as required.
• Clean rugs, carpets, blinds and furniture.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows and doors.
• Replace light bulbs and maintain equipment.
• Assist with setup for meetings and events.
• Receive deliveries and help with unloading and storage.
