Job summary

La Mesa-Spring Valley School District is seeking applicants for a Custodian position to maintain clean, safe school facilities. An eligibility list will be established to fill current and future vacancies and remains active for six months or until exhausted.

The position is full-time, eight hours per day, 260 paid days per year. Under supervision, custodians perform routine cleaning, operate equipment, and assist with event setup, safety checks, and grounds upkeep.

Qualifications

• Six months of custodial experience or equivalent.
• Successful passage of district proficiency test.
• Some incumbents may be required to possess a valid California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school site or facility.
• Clean classrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, auditoriums, lounges, offices, locker rooms and other facilities as assigned.
• Maintain buildings and adjacent grounds in a clean, secure condition.
• Operate custodial equipment and drive a vehicle as assigned.
• Report safety, sanitary and fire hazards to appropriate personnel; resolve issues as needed.
• Support site recycling program and assist during events/meetings.
