Job summary

Genesee-Education-Consultant-Services seeks a Custodian in Flint, MI to maintain clean, safe learning environments for students and staff. The role collaborates with Lead custodian and may participate in special projects.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid MI driver’s license, and the ability to operate custodial equipment. Salary is $15.91/hour and includes standard district benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and current auto insurance; reliable transportation; able to drive between worksites.
• Custodial and building care experience preferred, not required.
• Must be physically able to perform duties and operate custodial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Keep assigned areas neat and clean per district standards.
• Operate custodial equipment (floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, lawn and snow equipment).
• Assist in maintenance of equipment and vehicles per manuals.
• Drive district-owned or personal vehicles between sites as needed.
• Open/close building and ensure security.
• Set up furniture for meetings and events.
• Document daily work activities on program forms.
• Report supply and repair needs to Lead/Head Custodian.
• Maintain temperature standards as assigned.
• Communicate needs to Lead Custodian; follow safety policies.
• Follow daily work schedules and report unfinished tasks.
