Job summary

Princeton Independent School District is seeking a Custodian to clean and maintain district facilities, ensuring safety and efficiency in building operations and grounds. You will follow a cleaning schedule, manage supplies, and assist with events.

The role requires reading and applying cleaning and safety procedures, basic repair knowledge, and the ability to lift heavy equipment. Work is performed on-site across campus facilities with varied shifts and weather exposure.

Qualifications

• No formal education or certification required.
• Ability to read and understand cleaning, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and operate cleaning tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cleaning schedule for floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment and restrooms.
• Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and play areas.
• Comply with local laws for storage and disposal of trash; assist in inventory checks and restock as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom setup, move tables and chairs, and report major repairs to the principal.
• Perform preventive maintenance, regulate HVAC for comfort, and set up facilities for events.
• Open/close building, ensure exit doors are functional, follow safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
