Job summary

Shenandoah County Public Schools in Winchester, VA seeks a Project Manager to provide technical and construction project management support for school site improvements, facility modifications, and new construction projects. Qualifications

• Graduation from a two or four year college program relating to construction management, or related area of specialty.
• Requires two years of experience in construction/maintenance specification writing and/or preparation and experience in public school building construction.
• Experience in a supervisory or project management capacity is preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and a clean DMV record.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Review plan, estimate, and schedule work assignments on school site improvements, modification of facilities, and/or new construction projects.
• Assist in the development of formal project specifications for bid purposes and review bid specifications for accuracy.
• Confer with prospective contractors and solicit formal and informal bids and proposals.
• Monitor and assure timely development of projects and schedules.
• Coordinate site visits, pre-bid conferences, pre-construction conferences, and job meetings.
• Coordinate the testing of complex building systems to ensure they meet school standards.
• Coordinate with local fire marshals, health departments, and inspectors to secure occupancy.
• Prepare reports, maintain project records, and ensure compliance with current standards and codes.
• Lead final walk-throughs, manage punch lists, and hand over warranties and as-built drawings.
