Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years carpentry/construction/facilities-maintenance experience required; equivalent education+experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to perform accurate measurements and basic construction calculations.
• Effective communication; ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass district background checks and employment conditions.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, installs, repairs, and modifies walls, doors, windows, cabinets, counters, shelving, trim, ceilings, flooring, and other building components.
• Reads and interprets plans, sketches, specifications, work orders, and technical instructions.
• Measures, cuts, shapes, assembles, and finishes wood, laminate, drywall, metal framing, and related materials.
• Installs and repairs door hardware, locks, partitions, fixtures, and accessibility components.
• Performs preventive maintenance and responds to routine, urgent, and emergency work orders.
• Coordinates work with administrators, maintenance staff, contractors, and other trades to minimize disruption to instruction.
