Job summary

Sylvania seeks a District Nurse to support student health in the Kittitas School District. The RN will provide essential nursing care, from medications to health plans, traveling between district sites to serve medically fragile students and maintain records per policy.

Requirements include WA RN license, driving, and collaboration with district staff, RCW/WAC compliance, and commitment to student well-being.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a current Washington State RN license.
• Possess and maintain a current Washington State Driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• Ability to operate a computer and manage electronic medical records.
• Understanding of Nurse Practice Act and professional nursing standards.
• Experience with medically fragile or health-concerned students preferred.
• Excellent communication with students, parents, and staff; professional demeanor.
• Strong organization, dependability, and attendance; confidential handling of information.

Responsibilities

• Enhance student safety and educational potential through nursing procedures in school settings.
• Travel to district sites to provide nursing services as health staffing requires.
• Develop and implement student health care plans in partnership with staff and families.
• Conduct health screenings, document results, and communicate with parents and staff.
• Administer medications and provide routine and emergent care per care plans.
• Coordinate emergency care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams when needed.
• Maintain electronic and paper medical records and ensure confidentiality.
