Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a full-time Plumber to join Ames Community School District, starting May 2026. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across the district's facilities. The role requires a Journeyman Plumbing License and a certificate from college or technical school, or equivalent experience. Compensation is $33.90 per hour with benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• One to five years of related experience and/or training in plumbing.
• Must have a clean driving record with a CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes and fixtures.
• Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and leaks.
• Respond to emergency plumbing issues promptly.

Skills

Ability to read, interpret, understand, and implement communication

Proficient computer skills using email, spreadsheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Word

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather

Education

One year certificate from college or technical school

Journeyman Plumbing License

Backflow Testing Certification
