School District Crossing Guard

The School District Crossing Guard is responsible for assisting students to safely cross streets at designated crosswalks before school. The Crossing Guard ensures student safety by directing traffic, monitoring pedestrian movement, and promoting safe crossing practices in school zones.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and other pedestrians in safely crossing at designated areas on school grounds.
• Direct vehicular traffic using approved safety equipment such as stop paddles and safety vests.
• Monitor crosswalks during designated arrival times.
• Ensure students remain on sidewalks or curbs until it is safe to cross.
• Maintain order and safe behavior among students waiting to cross.
• Observe and report unsafe traffic conditions, suspicious activity or violations to school officials.
• Record and report vehicles that disregard traffic laws in school zones when appropriate.
• Provide basic safety reminders and instruction to students about safe crossing procedures.
