Job summary

Hernando County School District seeks a licensed attorney to serve as the district's legal counsel. A Juris Doctorate, active Florida Bar membership, and at least three years' experience as a public agency attorney are required.

Candidates should have knowledge of laws applicable to operating a K-12 school district and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with diverse groups. Salary is based on the district's approved Administrative salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Florida Bar in good standing; admission to state/federal courts in Florida.
• Florida Supreme Court certificate or Florida certification in city, county and local government.
• Minimum of three (3) years professional experience as a public agency attorney.
• Experience and knowledge of laws applicable to the operation of a K-12 school district.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to work with diverse groups.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
