Flik Independent School Dining in California is seeking a Sous Chef to support culinary operations for a dynamic K-12 school dining program. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will assist with daily food production, menu development, catering execution, inventory management, and supervision of hourly kitchen staff.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Culinary Arts and 2+ years of high-volume kitchen management, strong leadership, and knowledge of scratch cooking and food safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
• 2+ years of dynamic culinary or kitchen management in high-volume operations.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and supervise back-of-house staff.
• Support menu development, production planning, and catering execution.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, and cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure HACCP compliance, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Mentor hourly staff and promote a collaborative kitchen culture.
• Lead special events with high quality food presentation.
