Job summary

The Nye County School District in Tonopah, NV is seeking a Student Food Helper to assist in the High School Nutrition Services team. Under the Kitchen Manager guidance, you will help prepare and serve student meals, maintain a clean, safe dining area, and support inventory and basic cashier duties.

Current enrollment in high school is required, with counselor permission and compliance with NCSD Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in high school.
• Counselor permission required.
• Compliance with NCSD Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.
• Familiar with FERPA, HIPAA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of food in a quick, pleasant manner.
• Carry out duties as prioritized by Kitchen Manager.
• Observe proper food safety procedures.
• Clean, maintain, and operate kitchen equipment.
• Check in groceries, stock shelves and freezers, take inventory.
• Assist in washing dishes and general cleanup.
• Keep stoves, refrigerators, freezers, and other equipment clean and sanitary.
• Record daily temperatures of equipment and menu items as appropriate.
• Acts as cashier.
