Job summary

The Academies of Math and Science – Nellis Campus in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a dependable Day Porter / Custodian to support daily operations. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and common areas, handling supplies, light maintenance, and complying with safety guidelines. The position offers full-time, on-site work with competitive hourly pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience (school environment preferred).
• Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safe chemical handling practices.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and related tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to respond promptly to campus needs and emergencies.
• Ability to successfully complete Nevada state background checks and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness across all areas of the campus throughout the day.
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors; clean walls, windows, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of trash across campus, including outdoor areas.
• Launder cleaning materials such as towels and mop heads.
