Job summary

St. John Vianney High School is seeking a dependable Day Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus for students, educators, families, and visitors. This position handles real-time cleanups, restocks supplies, cleans high-traffic spaces, and assists with daily facility needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years in custodial, janitorial, or day porter roles preferred.
• Ability to pass a mandatory background check.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate standard cleaning equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Common Area & High-Touch Maintenance: wipe down high-touch surfaces and keep hallways and lobbies clear.
• Cafeteria & Lunch Support: clean spills, wipe tables, and empty trash during lunch shifts.
• Restroom Monitoring: check restrooms, mop floors, restock supplies.
• Rapid Response: respond to spills, broken glass, or custodial requests; report major issues.
• Common Area Reset After Events: clean and reset spaces used for events the night before.
