Job summary

St. John Vianney High School is seeking a dependable Day Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus for students, educators, families, and visitors. The role includes real-time cleanups, restocking supplies, and assisting with minor facility needs during school hours.

The position reports to the Operations Director / Maintenance Manager and requires a high school diploma or GED with 1+ year of custodial experience. Hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, on-site at the school.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of custodial or day porter experience preferred.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate standard cleaning equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-traffic spaces and restrooms during school hours.
• Support cafeteria transitions and clean spills during meal periods.
• Respond to urgent custodial requests and report major issues to maintenance.
• Clean and reset common areas after events and daily operations.
• Assist staff with routine facility needs and safety checks.
