The position is full-time on a 12-month contract with hourly pay. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, security checks, and basic repairs, with opportunities for summer cleaning and event support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of building components and ability to operate security and fire alarm systems in emergencies.
• Strong organizational skills and mechanical aptitude for basic repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment (floor/carpet cleaners, snow removal, gym equipment, risers).
• Computer skills adequate to utilize relevant technology.
• Ability to relate positively to students, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Cleans floors, empties trash, washes whiteboards, dusts in classrooms daily.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and locker rooms daily.
• Opens/closes building each school day and ensures doors/windows secured.
• Monitors heat, ventilation, and AC to maintain appropriate temperatures and energy use.
• Notifies principal of problems with systems.
• Sets up rooms for events.
• Performs snow removal and de-icing as needed.
• Summer cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Assists with building security at night.
• Performs weekend security checks.
• Performs minor repairs to chairs/desks and fixtures.
• Replaces light bulbs and performs other maintenance tasks.
• Assists with testing cleaning products as directed.
• Supervise community service workers with approval.
• Day Custodian responsible for monthly fire extinguisher and boiler chemical tests.
