Job summary

Leona Group Schools is seeking a dependable custodian to keep the school site clean and materials in good working order, identify unsafe conditions, and keep surrounding areas debris-free.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, gym spaces, reporting safety concerns, following universal precautions, and coordinating with staff to ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and speaking skills to enable staff to understand supervisory instructions and health/safety information.
• Ability to organize work to meet daily deadlines.
• May be required to work afternoon or evening shifts, depending on academy needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement directives of the School Leader regarding cleaning the academy facility. This includes classrooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, athletic facilities, or any inside or outside area of the school building.
• Report safety or health concerns to the School Leader; promptly correct potentially unsafe situations to avoid injuries.
• Follow guidelines related to universal precautions including blood-borne pathogens procedures.
• May be responsible for ordering or purchasing cleaning materials and supplies; ensure expenditures are properly documented.
• Work cooperatively with staff and coordinate with facility landlord if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.
