Job summary

Lafayette High School is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff. The role follows a daily work schedule and entails routine cleaning tasks throughout the facility.

You will operate floor machines, assist in all cleaning functions, and help maintain supplies and equipment while reporting maintenance needs. This is a 261-day position requiring reliability and collaboration during events and activities.

Responsibilities

• Follow a work schedule developed by the building principal
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors using the necessary floor machines such as buffering scrubbers and wet/dry vacuum machines
• Perform general cleaning of the building and grounds
• Assist in all cleaning functions
• Maintain a stock of custodial supplies
• Maintain all custodial equipment
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and mechanical equipment on a routine basis and report any items in need of attention to the principal
• Check with the principal for any special duties such as programs, ball games, and other activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
