The Salt Lake City School District is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment at South Salt Lake facilities. The role includes preparing spaces for daily activities, supporting meetings, and ensuring safety and cleanliness across classrooms and offices.

Qualifications include at least one year of related experience, English proficiency, and willingness to work in a K-12 setting.

Qualifications

• One year of job-related experience.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Speak, read, write, present professionally, analyze, understand, and interpret written and verbal communications in English.
• Preferred: experience in a K-12 education or public employment environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license and evidence of insurability.
• Experience following safety practices and procedures, including industrial cleaning methods, Team Cleaning, IPM, and Green Cleaning concepts.
• Spanish or other language proficiency, including read/write/speak/understand.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and data-based software.

Responsabilités

• Clean assigned school facilities to maintain a sanitary, healthy, safe, and attractive environment.
• Prepare facility for daily operations and ensure occupancy readiness.
• Arrange furnishings for meetings, classroom activities, and events.
• Assist the Head Custodian with snow removal.
• Assist the Head Custodian in maintaining supplies and equipment.
• Participate in meetings and training to receive information on procedures.
• Repair minor furniture and equipment to keep items safe and available.
• Respond to safety and operational concerns to resolve issues.
• Secure facilities and grounds to minimize property damage and liability.
• Substitute for the Head Custodian when needed.
• Communicate effectively with diverse groups while preserving confidentiality.
• Work under limited supervision and manage time to meet deadlines.
• Support a team environment and collaborate with other units.
• Adapt to changing priorities with interruptions.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Perform other duties to ensure efficient operation.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
