Job summary

Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34 is seeking a custodian to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment across a district facility, ensuring classrooms and common areas are ready for students and staff.

The role includes coordinating with the head custodian, following safety practices, cleaning floors and surfaces, snow removal, setting up for events, and upholding district standards while collaborating with various teams and departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds regularly and up to 90 pounds with help.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and handle custodial products safely.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate janitorial and custodial needs with head custodian.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing).
• Assist with snow removal and weather-related duties.
• Ensure safety and security of building and grounds; conduct final security check.
• Set up chairs, tables, and staging for events; maintain grounds.
• Communicate effectively with staff and community; work with team.
