Job summary

Brunswick County Public Schools Brunswick Elementary School in Lawrenceville, VA is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain and protect facilities and grounds. The role reports to the Principal/Head Custodian and supports instruction by ensuring a clean, safe environment for students and staff.

Starting immediately, the 12-month contract and salary are commensurate with experience on the FY27 scale. Prior custodial experience and strong physical endurance are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Certification in maintenance or repairs attractive.
• Proven custodian/janitor experience in similar setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock, and prepare spaces for the next day.
• Sweep, mop floors, vacuum carpets, and sanitize facilities.
• Maintain outer premises and plant care, report major damages.
• Perform minor repairs and ensure security after hours.
• Follow health and safety regulations and assist with events.
