Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Board may accept alternatives deemed appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times, including sidewalks and driveways.
• Shovel and/or plow sidewalks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate.
• Check daily that exit doors are locked and panic bolts work during occupancy hours.
• Sweep classrooms and dust furniture daily.
• Clean corridors after school and as needed during the day.
• Scrub and disinfect toilets, floors and fixtures; clean drinking fountains daily.
• Wash windows inside and outside.
• Keep grounds free from rubbish.
• Maintain floors in clean, attractive condition and well-preserved.
• Clean whiteboards and chalkboards daily.
• Secure windows and doors within assigned areas.
• Maintain confidentiality of school matters.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Director of Maintenance and Custodial and Principal.
• Check with day custodian for updates on projects or issues.
• Disinfect water fountains.
• Participate in snow removal.
