Job summary

Owensboro Public Schools seeks an Evening Custodian at Owensboro High School in Owensboro, KY to maintain a clean, secure facility. Position is 260 days with an hourly wage range of $13.25–$16.02.

Starting date is immediately; duties include sweeping, mopping, restroom and facility cleaning, and reporting safety hazards. Requires a HS diploma or GED; prior custodial experience preferred; Kentucky background check compliance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• MUST meet Kentucky criminal record check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial tasks at assigned school sites, including sweeping, mopping, washing and polishing floors, and vacuuming classrooms and offices.
• Clean restrooms, showers, locker rooms, cafeterias, and related facilities; monitor gym areas and assist with post-lunch cleaning.
• Disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, mirrors, and windows; maintain cleanliness of desks and furniture.
• Report safety hazards to the Custodial Supervisor and Principal; help maintain building security.
• Move furniture and equipment for events; replace light bulbs and perform minor non-technical repairs as needed.
