Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Willingness to learn custodial equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Strip and refinish floors.
• Clean restroom facilities daily.
• Maintain appearance of grounds and parking areas.
• Assist in duties as directed by principal, assistant principal, head custodian or custodial manager.
• Scrub, sweep, mop, vacuum, finish and burnish floors.
• Dust and arrange furniture.
• Wash windows, woodwork, walls and other surfaces.
• Replenish tissue, towels and soap in restrooms, classrooms and offices.
• Replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
• Empty wastebaskets and trash receptacles.
• Lock and unlock doors.
• Sort and store material for recycling.
• Report damages or repairs to supervisor.
• Picks up paper and trash in buildings or grounds.
