Seward High School is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and assist with school activity setups. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months of related cleaning experience.

Required experience and training: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of related experience. Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
1. Knowledge of cleaning and willingness to learn. 2. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions. 3. Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks. 4. Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures. 5. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
Desired experience and training: Some physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; lightlifting, pushing or pulling of objects over 50 lbs.
Special Requirements of the Position: The candidate must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license. The candidate must provide information that would assist in the development of a comprehensive criminal history check.
Scheduled cleaning of classrooms, hallways, and restrooms.
Picks up and disposes of litter.
Cleans floors and other common areas in the school.
Helps to set up activities.
Picks up trash on a regular schedule, and disposes of it.
Ensures the proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
