Qualifications

• Safety requirements and procedures knowledge.
• Laws, rules and regulations related to school activities.
• Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
• Technical aspects of custodial field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial activities at assigned District school site; sweep, scrub, mop, wash and polish floors and vacuum rugs and carpets.
• Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and related facilities.
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers and urinals; clean mirrors, tile and windows.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance needs to appropriate authority; maintain security of building; report suspicious individuals.
• Wash windows and walls; clean chalkboards and erasers; arrange furniture for events.
• Clean Venetian blinds, dust and polish furniture; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Lock/unlock doors; maintain security; manage alarm system as directed.
• Order supplies; pack/unpack, move, store books and supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, buffers and more.
• Shovel, plow and sand walks; trim areas around building; respond to emergencies.
• Participate in major summer cleaning projects; replace bulbs and tubes.
• Work cooperatively in a team; flexible hours including weekends for events.
