Job summary

Fremont County School District #14 is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students and staff across district facilities.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, maintenance, and safety checks, with duties ranging from classroom tidying to ensuring proper operation of heating, ventilation, and lighting systems. The role requires punctuality and collaboration with principals and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
• Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work on time and attends work regularly.
• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Performs duties in an efficient, timely and thorough manner.
• Works with staff, students and visitors in a professional manner.
• Regulates heat and ventilation for correct seasonal temperatures and efficient energy use.
• Shovels, plows and clears sidewalks and walkways as needed.
• Checks exit doors and panic hardware during occupied hours.
• Cleans classrooms, corridors, and restrooms daily and as required.
• Washes windows, cleans chalkboards/whiteboards, and performs basic repairs.
• Maintains inventory and reports major repairs to the principal.
