Job summary

Fremont County School District 14 in Wyoming is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming school environment. The role involves daily cleaning, building maintenance, and ensuring proper security while students are present.

You'll perform grounds upkeep, assist with seasonal duties, and work under the direction of the Building Principal to support a productive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
• Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Regulate heat and ventilation to balance comfort and cost.
• Shovels, plows, sidewalks, driveways, parking areas as needed.
• Check daily that exit doors are open and panic bolts work during occupancy.
• Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture.
• Clean corridors after school and when needed.
• Disinfect toilet floors daily and clean fixtures and drinking fountains.
• Wash windows inside and out as needed.
• Keep grounds free of rubbish and perform groundskeeping tasks.
• Perform minor repairs and report major repairs to the principal.
• Open and close the building daily and secure doors/windows.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and requisition ahead of time.
• Conduct ongoing maintenance and upkeep of facilities.
• Move furniture as required by the principal.
• Comply with storage, disposal of waste, and local laws.
• Conduct periodic inspections of electrical installations for safety.
• Raise flags at 8:00 a.m. and lower at 4:00 p.m.
• Participate in approved in-service training programs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal or head custodian.
