Job summary

Berkeley Heights Public Schools is seeking a Custodian responsible for the cleanliness of the school building and grounds. The role reports to the Head Custodian and, in absence, to the Supervisor of Building and Grounds or Business Administrator/Board Secretary.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid NJ driver's license, and the appropriate health and security clearances. Experience in custodial services and a Black Seal license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful Criminal History Clearance.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.
• Experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in custodial service at other institutions and firms.
• Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of custodial service.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Certificate of good health by school doctor.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
• Ability to communicate with others.
• Demonstrate aptitude for completion of assigned tasks.
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Black Seal license (One-year time allowance).
• Valid NJ Drivers License.
