Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 school, college or university campus environment. The role involves cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and shared spaces on an on‑site basis.

No prior experience is required and on‑the‑job training will be provided. ABM is a veteran-friendly employer and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, mop floors in designated areas.
• Empty trash and recycling in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Communicate with lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Maintain communication with clients, co‑workers and supervisors.
• Clean and dust desks, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors and walls.
• Polish wood, stainless steel and other hard surfaces.
