Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking a custodial worker to provide efficient, quality cleaning of district buildings, following established practices under supervision. The role follows a 261-day calendar with 8-hour daily shifts.

Salary ranges from $16.13 to $19.24 per hour, plus a $3.50 per hour critical need stipend. Internal bids are considered, with board-approved salary placement rules for 2026-2027.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform basic commercial cleaning tasks in schools and office buildings.
• Ability to use/operate commercial cleaning equipment.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient, quality cleaning (housekeeping) tasks District buildings following established practices, standards and methods under the direction of the supervisor.
