Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
• Willingness to do the job as assigned.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
• Ability to set appropriate priorities and work independently.
• Self-motivation and reliability are essential.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to read, write and speak at a sufficient level.
• Previous custodian or similar experience preferred.
• Knowledge of boiler operation is advantageous.
• First aid certification is preferred.
• Must pass Background and Criminal Justice Fingerprint Check.

Responsibilities

• Shovel, plow, and/or sand walks and steps.
• Scrub and disinfect toilets daily.
• Clean drinking fountains daily.
• Empty and clean trash containers daily.
• Clean chalkboards as needed.
• Keep floors clean and in good condition.
• Groundskeeping tasks as assigned.
• Wash windows inside and out when needed.
• Raise and lower the flag each school day.
• Check buildings during holidays for heating and security.
• Provide custodial coverage after school or as needed.
• Assist in set-up and clean-up of activities.
• Assist maintenance with moving furniture.
• Check playground equipment safety monthly.
• Report damage or hazards to supervisor immediately.
