Job summary

Archspm is seeking a dedicated full-time janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and guests during the school year, in coordination with the parish.

Responsibilities include cleaning procedures, restocking supplies, setting up rooms for meetings or events, washing windows, and managing trash and recycling, with safety gear required. Grounds tasks cover snow removal, lawn care, and playground upkeep, aligned with the school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Completing assigned cleaning procedures and schedule, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, operating floor machines, and cleaning and sanitizing offices and classrooms as needed.
• Washing windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
• Restocking supplies in janitor closets, bathrooms, and main storage areas.
• Gathering and dumping trash and recycling.
• Assisting with room set-ups prior to meetings or events, including tables, chairs, and other required items. Cleaning up after events as well.
• Notifying supervisor when supplies are low or equipment is in need of repair.
• Maintaining elevator, elevator landings, hallways, and cafeteria.
• Maintaining safety protocols and utilizing required safety gear including gloves, googles, wet floor signs, etc.
• Assisting with snow removal during the school day, including shoveling of school sidewalks, and salting of sidewalks and main school lot, if needed.
• Assisting with lawncare, including flower and vegetable gardens, and general upkeep of area around the school.
• Maintaining the playground area, including wood chips, to provide a safe environment for students.
• Ensuring equipment is in good operating condition and plan for yearly maintenance.

This individual will keep our school clean and well maintained for students, staff, and guests. The work helps to preserve a welcoming and safe environment for everyone.

This full-time position during the school year and includes four to six weeks off during the summer and additional time off during school breaks and holiday periods. Employment is managed by the parish.
