Job summary

ABM Industries is looking for a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at K-12 schools or college/university campuses. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and maintaining floors and surfaces.

No high school diploma required and on-the-job training is provided. Candidates must be 18 or older, and prior customer service experience is preferred to support client relations and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish and maintain communication with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, and supervisors.
• Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Move cabinets and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors using cleaners and sponges.
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform seasonal tasks.
• Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and comply with safety standards.

• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls - Polish hard surfaces, e. g. woodwork, stainless steel surfaces
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
• Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms (clean and polish as needed)
• Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities

Basic Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior customer service experience
