Job summary

Andy Frain Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable School Crossing Guard for the 2025/2026 year in Elgin, IL. You will help children cross streets safely and efficiently, directing traffic and reporting any infractions or hazards.

Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old, physically capable in all weather, able to read/write English, and comfortable interacting with students, parents, and school staff. Training is provided through a mandatory class.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Physically able to perform duties in all weather.
• Able to read and write English; communicate with children and parents.
• Must attend a mandatory School Crossing Guard class.

Responsibilities

• Directs actions of children at street intersections to ensure safe crossing.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and report infractions to the police.
• Observe vehicles and pedestrians in the area of school crosswalks to report suspicious activity.
• Take personal responsibility to provide exceptional customer service and promote a positive image.
• Follows safety regulations, policies and procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions to the field supervisor immediately, or at end of shift.
